Maya graduated from Smith College ’19 with a B.A in Chemistry and a minor in music. In her year abroad in Paris, she studied at University 7 Denis Diderot and the following summer interned at ESPCI working on the cyclization of a pyrrolidone to an azepane. She also worked in the Shea lab at Smith in her undergrad on attempting the addition of an azide to Neurolenin D via a triflate intermediate. She is currently a first year working on utilizing the Dehydro Diels-Alder to access novel accessorized ring structures for use in organic solar cells. Maya enjoys rock climbing, cooking, baking, and playing french horn and piano.
